Osteomyelitis in Heterotopic Ossification after Trochanteric Pressure Sore Reconstruction: A Case Report

چکیده
Heterotopic ossification is defined as the development of mature bone tissue outside normal bone. Osteomyelitis an infection-related inflammatory disorder bones. Although pressure sores accompanied by heterotopic have been reported, there no reports osteomyelitis occurring in proximity to ossification. Herein, we report a rare case after trochanteric sore reconstruction. We also emphasize importance proper diagnosis and surgical approach for this infected lesion.

متن کاملHeterotopic Ossification in the Middle Finger: A Case Report
A case of heterotopic ossification developed after traumatic laceration of the middle finger. It is extremely rare for heterotopic ossification to locate in the finger. The diagnosis was accomplished with plain radiographs as well as with MRI and confirmatory study with histopathological microscopic examination which demonstrated nubbin of bone surrounded by fibrovascular connective tissue, and...
متن کاملProgression of Heterotopic Ossification around the Elbow after Trauma
Background: This study addresses the null hypothesis that there is no expansion of heterotopic ossification (HO) in the elbow beyond what can be seen early on. Methods: The area of HO was measured on lateral radiographs of 38 consecutive patients that had operative treatment of HO between 2000 and 2013. Measurements from radiographs obtained between 3 to 7 weeks were compared to measurements...
متن کاملHeterotopic ossification following anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis: a case report
BACKGROUND Heterotopic ossification (HO) is defined as the formation of true bone tissue in non-osseous tissues. HO may occur under several conditions such as soft tissue injury, central nervous system injury and many other diseases like arthopathies, and vasculopathies. The underlying mechanisms of HO are not well elucidated. Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis is a newly recognized autoimmune med...
